Global Day Of Prayer South Essex Region Gathering
If you’re interested in representing your fellowship or group at this month’s Global Day Of Prayer South Essex Regional Gathering, then please come to Aveley Christian Centre (Aveley Close, off Stifford Road) on Monday evening at 7.30pm.
Thurrock-based intercessors will be joined by ‘ambassadors’ from Havering, Castle Point and Southend. They will exchange news of what’s going on in the various areas, get a prophetic overview of our region, and pray into some of the issues raised.
We will also be praying for the GDOP itself, which is still uncertain of its venue for the coming year. But GDOP’s convener, Dr Jonathan Oloyede, believes this is because God wants a focus on prayer within the London boroughs and along the Thames Gateway. Thurrock is already involved in the GDOP National Canopy Of Prayer, which is an aspect of this growing wave.
Because of the GDOP and other established prayer networks like 24-7 Prayer, the UK is being saturated with continuous intercession. As 24-7’s Pete Greig said in Grays last January, such an unprecedented movement of prayer can only be leading up to a significant move of God in our capital and nation, if it hasn’t already begun.
Just at the beginning of its planning is the GDOP’s M25 ’24-10 Nutcracker’ – a scheme to create prayer rooms around the 120-mile long ring road that is the M25 in the 10 days leading up to the next Global Day Of Prayer, on 31 May. The idea is to establish at least 31 prayer rooms each praying simultaneously and continuously for London and the UK. If London’s the nut, then this focus of unremitting prayer is the nutcracker - like a vice applying pressure, something’s got to give! Of course, Thurrock just about straddles the M25 at the Aveley end, so listen out for future developments, or if you want to get involved, please contact Tim Harrold on tim@transformationthurrock.com.
Things are really hotting up – so come along and get involved! Let’s call upon Jesus to Transform Thurrock, the Thames gateway, London and the UK!
