Bishop of Bradwell dedicates new Thurrock church building

allsaintsc100THE Bishop of Bradwell, The Rt Rev Dr Laurie Green, officially dedicated a new church in Thurrock this week.

On Saturday November 1 he was at All Saints Church in Drake Road, Chafford Hundred.

All Saints is a church that opens its doors every day of the week, hosts a coffee shop, baby and child clinics, children’s and youth groups, theatre and dance schools, and evening classes.

Team vicar, The Rev Alex Gowing-Cumber, said: “Whenever the doors are open, residents are welcome to come in.

“The church is a valuable community resource as well as being a sacred space.”

The building cost £1.3million to construct and fit out.

Church and community members funded the construction.

The Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation and the Hew Watt Family Charitable Fund paid for the building to be fitted out.

The land was given by the developers of Chafford Hundred.
