The Return of the Magnificent 24-7!
The last full-blown 24-7 Prayer Week was held at The Old Tennis Court in Grays last January to coincide with the international Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Those of you who came may recall the 'Patchwork Bride'.
A subsequent 24-7 Prayer Week around Pentecost was called off owing to lack of interest. (This was the first 24-7 we've ever had to call off over the almost 7 years and some 30+ prayer weeks we've done in Thurrock.)
But in the New Year there will be another 24-7 Prayer Week held at Grays Baptist Church, 18-25 January, again to coincide with the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.
GBC pastor Colin Baker, Tim Harrold and others are together creative ideas for 168 hours of continuous interactive prayer - the emphasis being, of course, unity. So the church building will be open to all who wish to get involved - watch this space!
Themes will be: Unity & the Patchwork Bride, The River, World Mission, Praying for Prayer, The Priest's Hole, US Presidential Inaugeration, and Wailing Wall.
As part of the prayer week, Christian singer-songwriter and prophetic 'troubadour' GODFREY BIRTILL will be playing live at Grays Baptist Church on Friday 23 January, starting 7.30pm. Entry is free - an offering will be taken. Please see the downloadable poster for more details.
For more local 24-7 Prayer related activity, see the articles about the Stanford & Corringham Boiler Room.
