Hot off the press: Bar n'Bus fundraiser a scorcher!

barnbus4Local Christian charity, Bar n’ Bus held a successful fundraising curry night this week, raising £1900 for its work with young people in Thurrock, Basildon, Castle Point and South Woodham Ferrers.

Operations Manager, Stuart Christian, shared his delight at how well the event was supported by local people “I was amazed that 230 people came, what with the credit crunch and all. I just want to say a huge THANK YOU for everyone making it such a brilliant evening. We have been holding this annual event for the past few years and we are looking forward to next year already”

The Bar n’ Bus is an outreach project to local youth, who congregate on the streets and in parks. The Bus is manned by local Christians from different churches and is doing a lot to bring individual churches together.

The next fundraising event in Thurrock will be a quiz night in the autumn.

The food was great and the atmosphere was brilliant too, well done for raising such a good total.
