Come to Grays Market Chapel on Easter Saturday!
Grays Town Churches having a market stall in the High Street for Easter Saturday (11 April). This is the second year they've come together in a united witness of the good news of the Easter Story - the resurrection from the dead of Jesus Christ. The churches who have been involved in the planning are Grays Parish Church (and Team Ministry); Grays United Reformed Church; Grays Baptist Church; and Thurrock Christian Fellowship Grays Congregation. It's hoped that others will come on board on the day. This year the emphasis will be on just talking with people and offering prayer where appropriate and if wanted. Team members will be handing out bags of Easter goodies and information about local church services, a free newspaper, and copies of The Lord's Prayer. Other literature will be available for for those who show a greater interest. The stall will have a banner with "Market Chapel" witten in big letters, and above this in smaller letters, "Grays Town Churches". The Market Chapel will be open for much of the day, from when the market opens at about 8am to when it closes at 5pm. This means the stall has to be set up and taken down before and after these times!
Would you like to help at the Grays Market Chapel?
We are looking for people who would be able to help during the day, so if you like can offer practical help or would like to hand out goody bags, or are happy to talk to people, then please let us know. We also need people who are able to pray with anyone who requests prayer, and be part of the team prayerwalking the High Street at regular times during the day.
There will be a meeting for the whole team in the Oak Room in Grays Parish Church at 4pm, this Sunday 5 April. To join the team or find out more information, please contact Colin Baker at Grays Baptist Church on 01375 405 681 or pastacolin@blueyonder.co.uk.
Would you like to help pack goody bags?
Sam Brazier-Gibbs of Grays Team Ministry is overseeing this in Grays Parish Church at 10am on Wednesday 8 April. Please come along - it'll be a hoot! And if you're unable to get involved - please pray for the Grays Market Chapel and all we will be meeting in the High Street in the lead up to and during 11 April. Thank you.
