STOP THE TRAFFIK AT GRAYS BAPTIST CHURCH

A young church member explains the problem of human trafficking and her response to it and invites you to support her.

stoptraffikPeople trafficking is defined as; being deceived or taken against your will, bought, sold and transported into slavery for sexual exploitation, sweat shops, child brides, circuses, sacrificial worship, forced begging, sale of human organs, farm labour, domestic servitude. Human Traffiking is happening all over the world, including our country.

I have recently done alot of research into human trafficking; The more I researched the more I knew I had to support the charities trying to abolish it. I feel very strongly about human trafficking and how it is happening in our world today. It is a growing problem and awerness really needs to be raised. Therefore to support the organisation “Stop the Traffik” I decided to do firstly a charity auction, where people can auction their time and talents. For example some of the things we will be auctioning off are; a caricature, paintings, a professional haircut and blow-dry etc. It will be held on the 3rd of May, during the sermon part of the service.

On the morning of the auction we will be having a continental breakfast at the church from 9.15 to 10.15 in support of Stop the Traffick. We will have Fair trade food and Fair trade hot drink on offer. There are no bookings or fixed charge, but donations can be made.

Any support to the auction or breakfasts is greatly appreciated, as I am aiming to raise a £1000 by the summer.

Thank you to all those already supporting the events and I hope to see you all at the auctions and breakfasts.

God bless ,

Rebekah
