Thurrock's GDOP M25 Nutcracker Prayer Room gets cracking
Thurrock's Nutcracker prayer room is going to be at Aveley Christian Centre, just a stone's throw away from the M25.
At the time of writing, Thurrock's prayer room will be one of around 10 prayer rooms - beacons of fire - holding continuous prayer throughout the 10 days leading up to the Global Day of Prayer on Pentecost Sunday. This echoes the period between the Ascension and the Day of Pentecost when the disciples gathered in the Upper Room to wait on God for the gift of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the church. This is also to align with the M25 Nutcracker's partner Global Day of Prayer London and their 10-day meditative prayer journey, available from www.gdoplondon.com. The focus of prayer is primarily pointed at London - a tough nut to crack, but in obedience to God, this whole initiative has been set up to achieve just that. Our capital is known for its geographical prominance, historical significance, spiritual influence, cultural diversity, economic importance, political dominance and national identification. What affects London affects Thurrock, the Thames Gateway, the UK - and the world. We are asking churches to take a day each, or half a day twice, or even a quarter of a day maybe four times, and be responsible for filling the hour-long prayer slots over that chosen period. If you're an individual reading this, please sign up for how ever many slots you want to. One church has already 'block booked' Day 6, so the rota currently looks like this: 1st Day - 6pm Wednesday 20 to 6pm Thursday 21 May 2nd Day - 6pm Thursday 21 to 6pm Friday 22 May 3rd Day - 6pm Friday 22 to 6pm Saturday 23 May 4th Day - 6pm Saturday 23 May to 6pm Sunday 24 May 5th Day - 6pm Sunday 24 to 6pm Monday 25 May 6th Day - 6pm Monday 25 to 6pm Tuesday 26 May - GRAYS BAPTIST CHURCH 7th Day - 6pm Tuesday 26 to Wednesday 27 May 8th Day - 6pm Wednesday 27 May to 6pm Thursday 28 May 9th Day - 6pm Thursday 28 to 6pm Friday 29 May 10th Day - 6pm Friday 29 to 6pm Saturday 30 May We especially want Nightwatchmen who are prepared to come over to the prayer room between 12 midnight and 3am or 3am and 6am. The deep night hours are when prayer rooms most noticeably become 'thin places', thick with the presence of God. This isn't just a gimmick, or the imposition of yet another brand or bandwagon upon your already heavily laden church programmes, or even another one of 'Tim's things' - it's A SOLEMN CALL TO UNITED PRAYER FOR THE SALVATION OF THE SOUL AT THE CENTRE OF THIS COUNTRY, OUR NATION, IN THIS TIME OF GREAT SPIRITUAL & MORAL POVERTY. We stand at the crossroads of history - and God is not calling the politicians to sort it - Jesus is calling HIS PEOPLE WHO ARE CALLED BY HIS NAME... (Jeremiah 6:16, 2 Chronicles 7:14). You cannot ignore this - BECAUSE WE ARE THE ONES WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR! CREATIVES REQUIRED! If you're reading this and feel inspired to help create the prayer room environment, with its interactive stations, visual displays and prophetic artistry, then please contact Tim Harrold. We will be setting up at Aveley Christian Centre sometime on Tuesday 19 May or during the day of Wednesday 20 May. For more information please contact Tim Harrold on 07 929 878 089 or tim@transformationthurrock.com. Thurrock's M25 Nutcracker Thurrock Prayer Room runs from 6pm Wednesday 20 May through 6pm Saturday 30 May and is at Aveley Christian Centre, Aveley Close, Aveley RM15 4BU. Events across Thurrock for the Global Day of Prayer on 31 May will be announced shortly once details have been confirmed.
