Week of prayer for Parliament and Government, 7th-12th June

DigitalHousesOfParliamentDear friends,

I am writing to remind you of the week of prayer for parliament and government, which is taking place this year on 7th-12th June.

The bible commands us to ‘pray for rulers and those in authority’, and there has never been a more urgent time to take this command seriously and respond in prayer for our government and our nation.

Christians in Parliament have put together a prayer guide, which gives 4 specific suggestions regarding how you might respond:

1) Include prayer for parliament as part of your church service on 7th June;

2) Pray through these issues during your regular prayer meeting (or hold a specific prayer meeting during the week);

3) Encourage individuals to use the 7-day personal prayer guide (eg: by printing out and distributing copies);

4) Hold a night of prayer, 24 hour prayer watch, or 24-7 prayer week.

In addition, there will be events taking place daily in Westminster and Whitehall. We will be organising a group from Thurrock to go down to at least one of these (and the daily prayer walks are open to all).

To find out more information, please take a moment to visit www.christiansinparliament.org.uk. I have attached a copy of the prayer resource pack to this email (the website also has individual versions of the various sections, and powerpoint presentations for use in church on a Sunday).

Please feel free to get back to me if you need any further information,

Yours in Christ,

Phil Anderson
