Transformation Thurrock Prayer brings church leaders together
Last Saturday morning some 20 or so church leaders and intercessors from across Thurrock gathered together at Gates of Praise International Centre in Grays to pray for the transformation of our borough in Jesus' name. Following the Global Day of Prayer's prayer guide for that day - "Let your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven" - emphatic intercessions were made on behalf of the council, local education, young people and the church.
The morning climaxed with ministers, leaders and reps from each church present joining hands in a huddle at the front, praying for each other and being prayed for by everyone else. Such a demonstration of unity, and commitment to unity, and solidarity in that unity, was a powerful statement of intent not onlyto thos who were there, but also to the Body of Christ, the world, and the 'powers and principalities'. We must therefore seek to protect this unity through continued intercessions and creating further opportunites to strengthen our togetherness, pool our resources and work in non-competitive co-operation. At the end of the morning, we prayed for Pastor Akin Laosun of GOPIC, with prayers led by Rev Steve Williams from West Horndon, who is Thames Gateway Officer for the Anglican Diocese. We would like to thank Akin and the others from GOPIC from their kind hospitality. The next Transformation Thurrock Prayer is the Breakfast at Thurrock Hotel at 8am on Saturday 27 June. Full English Breakfast included. Cost £10 per head. To register please click here.
