Cracking nuts at Thurrock's GDOP Prayer Room

Still time to sign up

Nutcracker
Thurrock's M25 Nutcracker prayer room at Aveley Christian Centre continues until 6pm this coming Saturday evening (30 May). This is just one of 10 such prayer rooms around the M25 applying pressure on London until it cracks open like a nut.

Sadly, the prayer room as not been supported as such a call to prayer demands, perhaps because of the Bank Holiday and half term, and unfortunately the decision had to be made to close the prayer room between 12 midnight and 6am, although Grays Baptist Church insisted on fulflling their promise to cover an entire 24 hours.

However, pastors Alan and Lydia Field have been manning the venue for long stretches of the week while pray-ers have turned up as and when, and are delighted at the response from their own church members. "We're really pleased we agreed to host the Nutcracker," Lydia say, "It's really been great for the church to have the prayer room here and just show a different way of praying."

An article about the M25 Nutcracker will appear in this week's Yellow Advertiser.
