Pray on the Pocahontas!
A golden opportunity has arisen for intercessors from Thurrock and south Essex to join with others from north Kent on a prayer-cruise from Gravesend to London and back. This will be a Thames Gateway Prayernet event.
The pleasure boat Pocahontas is named after the famous Indian princess who was converted to Christianity in the 1700s and who is buried under St George's in Gravesend.
This will take place on either Saturdays 19 or 26 September.
19 September is the Jewish New Year, and so an excellent opportunity to do some shofar blowing up the river!
26 September is down as a Transformation Thurrock Prayer day, but we can do this instead - and still blow our shofars!
Whichever - it'll be a blast!
The cost will be in the region of £12, which is really good value. The Kent Prayer Partnership (www.kentprayerpartnership.com) guys are looking at getting a speaker.
Please can you get back to Tim Harrold by the end of this week (Friday 12 June) to let us know your preferred day - bearing in mind we won't be able to please everyone! Please also let others know about this. This is just to give us an idea of which date to go for - if you don't get back to us it doesn't mean you can't book a place! (There's room for up to 200 people, by the way!)
We'll let you know the final details as soon as we can.
