Operation Christmas Child comes to Thurrock

imagesThis year's Operation Christmas Child campaign runs from 1st-18th November. Once again Grays Baptist Church in Orsett Road is acting as the official "Drop Off Point" for the area so that shoe boxes can be brought to the church by individuals, other churches, schools or any other organisation. If you wish to support this campaign, the church will be open at the following times to receive boxes from both organisations and individuals:

3rd - 18th November  Monday - Friday  10.00 a.m. - 2.00 p.m.
Saturday 7th & 14th  10.00 - 12 noon.

Please phone the church (01375-402291) or Jean Catton (01375-374275) if these times are not convenient for you and other arrangements can be made, also please phone if you would like a leaflet explaining about the covering of the box and what items can or cannot be sent to the countries overseas. At a date as soon after 18th November as possible, Samaritan's Purse, the charity organising this campaign, will collect all the boxes from the church
in Orsett Road.

Last year just under 500 boxes were collected from the church by the charity, this helped towards the great total of 1.2 million boxes sent out to some of the poorest children in Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe - some of whom had NEVER had a present in their lives! Please support this campaign - you can find out more about it on www.samaritanspurse.uk.com/occ
