Thurrock's Holocaust Memorial Day


israelflagAll are invited to Thurrock's Holocaust Memorial Day event being held on Wednesday 27 January.

The Holocaust Memorial Remembrance Day Service is being held at the Grays Memorial Gardens at 10.00am. The Gardens are on the corner of Palmers Avenue and High View Avenue, by the two mini roundabouts at the top of Orsett Road and Bridge Road, diagonally opposite Grays Telephone Exchange at the bottom of Bradleigh Avenue.

haifa10aThe aim of this event is to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day. Each year, 27 January is the internationally recognised day designated by the United Nations for Holocaust Memorial.

Lauren Hutchinson, the Corporate Diversity Officer and Team Lead on Community Engagement, Equality and Social Cohesion Board at Thurrock Council says: "The Holocaust Memorial Day Remembrance Service organised by the Corporate Diversity Team and enables the Council to show its corporate commitment to the annual remembrance and importantly deliver high level messages on the wider themes of tackling intolerance and all forms of discrimination and prejudice. This event also communicates the Council’s commitment to recognising the needs of the diverse community in Thurrock."
