Mike Cave

Mike Cave's funeral is at 10am Tuesday 2 March at Grays Baptist Church followed by burial at 12non at Stanford-le-Hope Cemetery.

Refreshments will follow back at the Church at approximately 1.30pm.

Grays Baptist's pastor, Colin Baker says, "All those who knew Mike are welcome. Arrangements are being made for refreshments afterwards. Please pray for Mike's family as we prepare for this occasion."

Mike leaves his fiancee Agnes, four brothers and two sons, Richard and Simon.

Please also pray for Colin as he prepares for the funeral, and also Pastor Karanja of the Kenyan church (where Mike and Agnes also worshipped).

Please note that parking in the area around Grays Baptist Church is difficult. Metered parking is in available in Cromwell Road and Milton Road, both of which are parallel to Hathway Road (where the church's hall is). Otherwise, use the multi-storey car park which is over by the Town Centre. To get to the church from there, exit the centre by Wilkinson's, cross the road and take Cart Lane which comes out opposite the Library on Orsett Road. Turn right and walk about 200m.

Previous posting: from Colin Baker, pastor at Grays Baptist Church

It is with great sadness that I have to share that Mike Cave of Bar'N'Bus and Grays Baptist Church died suddenly on Sunday night (14 February). He suffered a heart attack. Mike was 61.

There will be a series of gatherings starting tonight (Tuesday 16th) at Grays Baptist Church Hall in Hathaway Road from 7-9pm. These will be hosted by Pastor Karanja of the Kenyan church (where Mike and Agnes also worshipped) and Colin Baker.

The meetings will continue every night until Sunday (21st). All are welcome.

Books of condolence and also contributions will be open (in line with the Kenyan tradition of caring for the family during bereavements).

Please pray for Agnes and all of Mike's close and extended family.

>>> Everyone connected with Bar'N'Bus extend their sympathies to Agnes and the family at this time. Mike's contribution to the life of the bus outreach to young people on the streets of Thurrock was selfless and untiring. We will all miss Mike's wise words and wry wit. John 12:24. Tim H

Then I heard a voice from heaven say,
"Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on."

"Yes," says the Spirit, "they will rest from their labour, for their deeds will follow them."
Rev.14:13

What a loss, Mike was a wonderful man of God, I remember our 24/7 stints being adjacent and having a wonderful time of prayer together before I left and he took over, he will no doubt be very sorely missed, thank you Jesus for the hope which we have as Christians in your glorious resurrection. My condolences and blessings to Agnes. Rob Groves
