West Thurrock's Bar'N'Bus gets a big a boost

Bar N Bus Cheque Presentation

Bar'N'Bus have received a much needed financial boost from the kind folk at the West Thurrock Forum.

Last night (Thursday 4 March), Thurrock's Bar'N'Bus Teams' Coordinator Tim Harrold was presented with a cheque for £2000 from the Chairman of the West Thurrock Forum, Gareth Davies.

Gareth is a member of the team of volunteers that has gone out every Tuesday night for nearly two years, weather permitting. Team Leader Ray Barnard was also present, along with team members Danny Sedano and Rev Michelle Reynolds.

Tim made a short speech of thanks in which he linked the work of Bar'N'Bus with the superb work of the Youth Offending Team, two members of which had spoken earlier in the meeting. The two are complementary as they seek to reduce crime by young people and offer alternative lifestyles of respect for people and property.

On behalf of the Bar'N'Bus Trust and the West Thurrock team, we would like to thank the West Thurrock Forum for providing continued financial support for the bus and the young people to whom it reaches out.

The West Thurrock bus team is made up of people from St Clement's Parish Church - where Michelle is vicar - and West Thurrock Chapel.
