Film Review: Expelled - No Intelligence Allowed
 Every believer should see this documentary. Expelled - No Intelligence Allowed explores and exposes the appalling erosion of free speech in the US and UK when it comes to the Intelligent Design - Darwinist debate.

Starring former presidential speech writer, game-show host and movie star Ben Stein, the programme exposes the shameful practice of silencing and discriminating against anyone who challenges Darwinian Evolution in Universities and the media. It goes on to connect Darwinism with Nazism, totalitarian fascism and abortion. It thoroughly uncovers the Atheist agenda within the circles of the scientific elite. It is a must see, if just for the interview with British Atheist Richard Dawkins who reveals that intelligent design is possible as long as it is Aliens. We highly recommend that you watch this programme and share it with as many people as possible.

Though Ben Stein is perhaps most famous for his sleep-inducing drone in FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF or for his eponymous game show, he is also a highly regarded New York Times columnist and was a speechwriter for both Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford during their presidencies. For EXPELLED: NO INTELLIGENCE ALLOWED, he needs all his powers of persuasion as he calls attention to the plight of exiled scientists and professors. In this documentary, Stein travels the world and speaks to men and women who have lost their jobs and their standings in the scientific world because of their association with intelligent design. EXPELLED uses the Berlin Wall as a metaphor and asserts that these people have been unjustly ousted, merely for speaking their minds. It carefully explains the differences between creationism and intelligent design and demonstrates that the latter is a belief held by people of all deity-based faiths, not just Christianity. It also devotes time to the connections between Darwinism and Hitler's regime. The film's climax features Stein going head-to-head with Richard Dawkins, a renowned atheist and author of the bestseller THE GOD DELUSION. Obviously, neither man budges in his firmly held beliefs, but it's fascinating to watch a debate between two undeniably intelligent men, regardless of whose side you're on. I watched "Expelled" - lent to me by a friend - without not really knowing what it was about nor the style of its content. I was pleasantly surprised. I thought "Expelled" was full of good, clear content, presented accessibly and excellently. Naturally, it will annoy those who believe the evolutionist standpoint, but it's not so much about the argument itself, but the freedom to have that argument, looking at aspects of the evidence on both sides. For those who have come to conclusion that Intelligent Design is a reality, "Expelled" is a long-needed quality production. The format reminded me very much of the "Naked Archeologist" style of juxtaposing fast-moving and thought-provoking documentary with old movie clips and news reel excerpts - it was entertaining.
The links Ben Stein makes between Darwinian beliefs and the atheistic regimes of the 20th century are pertinent, well documented and a sober lesson for the current generation; there was nothing crass about this section, only poignancy. I would reject any criticism of the conclusions Stein reaches concerning these things and those other hot potato moral mazes, abortion and euthanasia.
The vitriolic and sadly self-deluded anti-ID arguments of Prof Dawkins make him look less than intelligently designed and shallow, and one is left wondering if he would happily 'naturally select' in favour of evolutionist supporters over 'ID-ers' (some prophesy this is likely to happen anyway). The interviews on the Bonus Features, whilst 'heady', are extremely interesting and well worth watching.
Ben Stein makes the following observation: "God may reveal himself through science, if we had the freedom to go there". Exactly the point of the film. Someone, or something, doesn't want it known that ID maybe true.
"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nature - been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse." Ignoring God leads to a downward spiral, as Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Pot have proved. Watch the intelligently designed "Expelled", weigh up the evidence, be challenged, enjoy.
