What Transformation Thurrock 'does'
Recently someone said that people don't really know what I do. Well, here's just a brief summary of Transformation Thurrock's core activities and related ministries...
- www.transformationthurrock.com - promoting united prayer and united mission across the borough, advertising events with an ecumenical flavour
- Transformation Thurrock Prayer gatherings - monthly (usually)
- Thurrock Day of Prayer - this year it's on 16 October at Hassenbrook School
- Thurrock and Havering Schools Prayer Day - this year it's on 2 October at Aveley Methodist Church (venue TBC)
- Grays Leaders Prayer - weekly gathering of local ministers
- Bar'N'Bus - Thurrock Teams Co-ordinator for this mission to young people on the streets of the brough in the evenings
- Thames Gateway Prayernet - frequent prophetic intercession at key points along the river, linking in with people from other prayer networks in Essex and Kent
- Thurrock Global Day of Prayer - next year we hope to be helping to facilitate and resource a cross-denominational open air 'Pentecost Fest' for all the church and community of Thurrock
- M25 Nutcracker - bringing church groups together to pray for the Capital and the Nation around the M25 region in partnership with Global Day of Prayer London
There are a number of other one-offs that happen on the way. I'm also seeking to develop prayer walking and 'treasure hunting' around the borough. Transformation Thurrock associates itself with loads of local events and redemptive agencies that carry the essence of community transforming unity.
Personally, I am involved in developing a fledgling 'church-in-the-house' with the help of a friend who has apostolic input into a network of house churches in South Africa and Cornwall. I also have strong links with Grays Baptist Church.
Transformation Thurrock is a vision I have had for a number of years, but became a reality in 2008 when local community evangelist Rob Groves and I got the website going. Rob is currently doing a Bible College course and is also working part-time for One Community in Tilbury.
Please keep praying as we work out what is the Lord's way forward for Transformation Thurrock, and for personal finances to be released. Please pray that in all the 'Martha-ing' that no one forgets to 'Mary' - rather than be human 'doings', remember we are created to be human beings.
May you be covered in the dust of our Great High Rabbi, Jesus the Christ, rooted and established in his love.
