4th of July? Must be the Stanford Festival!


Disney stars Woody and Buzz Lightyear will be opening this year's Stanford Festival, which is being held on Sunday 4 July from 9.30am to 4.30pm.

The day starts with a morning service held outside - an opportunity for local believers to gather and bring blessing to the town as it celebrates being community.

The Main Stage which will be outside the Inn on the Green pub. The programme includes:
  • 9.30am Open Air Service
  • 10.30am Opening Ceremony and the Alphonse Nuss Award
  • 10.50am Start of the Fun Run (sponsored by Red House Computers)
  • 11am Soul Revival Group
  • 11.15am Revelation
  • 11.30am Elvis
  • 12 noon Rock'n'Roll Dancers
  • 12.20pm Ceyhan (solo girl singer)
  • 12.50pm Streetlife Youth Urban Dance Group
  • 1.10pm Elvis with Rock'n'Roll Dancers
  • 1.30pm Revelation
  • 2.30pm Ceyhan
  • 2.50pm Charley Bird Band
  • 3.20pm Elvis to Finale
  • 4.30pm Finish
Also featured are King Street Entertainment with Live Music and Singers, as well as Thurrock Spectrum Brass.

PICT1684There's also a Bonny Baby Competition, an Art Competition, a Dog Show, a Hog Roast and Indian Food.

At St Margaret's, there's tours of the tower (left), from which you can get an excellent view of eastern Thurrock, Kent and the Thames right out to the Estuary.

Bar'N'Bus will be present.
