Thurrock Treasure Hunters Catch the Fire

Andy Blakey tells Transformation Thurrock about a Treasure Hunting course held by Catch The Fire he and a small group went on last Saturday (3 July).

A group of eight (above) left Thurrock to join about another forty to go Treasure Hunting in Harlow for the day, This was a conference/workshop facilitated by Catch The Fire ministries for those that want to move into the a supernatural way of evangelism.

The day started with worship and soaking in God’s presence so that we would be in tune and hear God’s voice, for Jesus says that, "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.” John 5:19

We than had a practice run in the safety of the work shop, asking Father what clues there were to those with need. A lots of people were prepared to share and other responded but the most significant and direct set of clues came from one of the group from Thurrock.

It went some like this (names changed for privacy)...

I have the name John, and a green shirt or top, and a stripe, straw and something wrong with an ear. While this was being given the team started giggling which was off-putting for the treasure hunter, but little known to the hunter was that John was standing behind them in a green tee-shirt. When the clues were finished and the request was made, “is there anyone who fits the clues?”, the first question from John was what ear left or right - and it was the right ear, in both senses.

In the afternoon - following on from further teaching and encouragement - the vast majority went out in groups of 4 or 5 with their list of clues.

I believe every group got to pray with at least one person out on the street, and some groups had very specific encounters with treasure and were able to share the Father’s love with those people who matched the clues that God had given. One group even had someone approach the group and ask them to pray for a sick relative.

All in all the result was that people that would never be on the street talking to people found themselves out there sharing Gods love with the people of Harlow.

As mentioned in previous articles, Transformation Thurrock wish to encourage Treasure Hunting around the borough and will be exploring this more in the near future.
