Transformation Thurrock Prayer and Pray4Thurrock join forces
Lara Akinola (right) of Pray4Thurrock and Liberty Ministries has postponed the previously planned outreach event on 31 July until a later date, and instead has decided to hold a 'Prayer Conference' at Gates of Praise International Centre (Curzon Drive, Grays).
Transformation Thurrock - who would've been holding their monthly prayer gathering the week before - suggested combining both events since they are almost identical in aims and content.
We believe that by coming together in prayer we can send out a strong message to churches of all denominations, backgrounds, cultures and traditions that unity is a key component in bringing about transformation in Thurrock.
This is not simply and option, but an answer to Christ's own prayer in Gethsemane, and therefore an act of conditional obedience - from which the Lord can fulfill his promise and command the blessing for life evermore in our community.
Lara says the prayer conference should be a "glorious event... It will be a time to raise our voices in one accord and intercede on behalf of our blessed borough, the work of God in the borough and the precious souls in the borough. I trust also that it will be a time of wonderful refreshing in God's presence".
From her evangelist's perspective, Lara continues: "I am confidence in your continued support and prayers as we move towards tilling the ground for the great harvest before us".
The prayer conference is 1-3pm on Saturday 31 July.
>>> The idea of an outreach event is being discussed now in terms of being an inter-church Thurrock Global Day of Prayer 'Pentecost Fest' on Sunday 12 June 2011. We invite your comments, suggestions and advice on this idea.
