Prayer Tent at T-Fest!

This year’s T-Fest is at Grays Beach on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th July. This year, as part of the annual festival, there will be a Prayer Tent.

Prayer in the name of Jesus will be offered to members of the public between the hours of 10am to 9pm on Saturday and 10am to 8pm on Sunday. The team will also be simply prayer walking the event and there maybe some 'Treasure Hunting'.

If you’re interested in joining the team for a period of time during the day - maybe for an hour or two or longer - then please contact Andy Blakey (of Thurrock Christian Fellowship, Grays) on andrew@familyblakey.org, who is in charge of the prayer rota.

T-Fest is back for the Third Year

T-Fest is in its third year and we want this year's event to be bigger and better than ever. T-Fest 09 attracted nearly 10,000 attendees over the weekend and was widely recognised as a great success.

T-Fest 2010 will be taking place on 24th and 25th July at: Grays Beach, Riverside Park, Thames Road, Grays, Essex.

This year's event has acts ranging from X-Factor finalists, Stacey Solomon, Chico and Rachel Adedeji; Britains Got Talent stars Stavros Flatley (left); local bands and performances; and over 50 community stalls. Internationally renowned Weapons of Sound, who use recycled materials to make very loud music, will also be appearing.

An event such as T-Fest has the ability to create a positive profile of the borough, celebrate diversity and promote civic pride. T-Fest is very much an event for local people with many of the performers coming from Thurrock. The event is also a showcase, bringing people of local talent together, on the same stage as big acts and big names.

wsb100x100THURROCKFESTIVALIncluded in T-Fest us a ‘Green Village’ (Climate Change Zone) where visitors can find information on how to reduce the amount of energy they use, as well as find out about local biodiversity, the environment and climate change. The Green Village will be located on Kilverts Field (near Grays Yacht Club).

There will be a chance to take part in the Climate Change Engagement Programme and enter a voluntary prize draw for Lakeside vouchers. There will be competitions for younger visitors and prizes to be won.

At the heart of the village will be the internationally renowned Weapons of Sound, who use recycled materials to make very loud music. They will be performing and holding free workshops.

Amongst the organisations taking part will be:
  • Essex Wildlife Trust
  • Essex Biodiversity
  • Groundwork South Essex
  • Forestry Commission
  • Royal Society for the Protection of Birds
  • Thurrock Biodiversity Action Group
  • Thurrock Play Network
  • Thurrock Re Use Project
  • Thames Chase and Thurrock Council
By the Green Village will be a huge fun fair.
