Thurrock Day of Prayer 2010 announced
This year's Thurrock Day of Prayer will be held at Grays United Reformed Church in Bradleigh Avenue on Saturday 16 October.
The Lord is quite clearly leading us to think 'out of the box' about this year's prayer day. We've begun to look at the programme from an oblique angle, and believe it's right to provide training in certain streams of prayer that are being released across the UK. This is in prophetic step with what God is doing to bring about transformation of the church and community.
So TDOP's going to look something like this:
Afternoon programme
- 1pm worship
- 1.30pm introduction
- 2pm split into four training seminars:
- Treasure Hunting
- Prophetic Prayer Walking - Healing the Land
- Healing on the Streets & Prayer at the Fair
- Intercession
- 2.45pm groups go out into community (except intercession group)
- 4.30pm groups return to debrief
- 5pm refreshments
Evening programme
- 6.30pm worship
- 7pm testimonies from afternoon activities
- 7.30pm speaker
- 8pm prayer for Thurrock
- 8.50pm closing worship
- 9pm end
Owing to lack of space, this year we will NOT be able to have displays. (It's hoped that instead we can create space for these at the proposed Pentecost Sunday Community Festival on 12 June 2011). However, we hope we can still include some of the special aspects we had last year, so watch this space!
Training will be provided by experts in their fields. We are still in the process of seeing who the Lord provides for these, but we're getting there. Three of the four seminars will be followed by practical outworking in Grays Town Centre; the Southend Road area; and at the Lodge Lane Parade.
The Transformation Thurrock team are excited by this approach to TDOP. It will challenge and change the way we 'do' prayer, and aid us in bringing transformation to the borough where the Lord of the Harvest has planted us all together.
Posters and flyers will be available in due course, but in the meantime please advertise the event in your churches and pass it on to others you think maybe interested. Thank you.
