Rock Thurrock Launch Breakfast is gonna rock!
It's Thursday afternoon. 36 hours or so to go before the Rock Thurrock Launch Breakfast. Edwin 'Nehemiah' Hughes has just emailed me - "Current total is 135 people and 28 Thurrock Churches!"
If you're not one of those 135 people, you have TODAY to phone Edwin and book your place. For just £10 you get to:
enjoy a full English breakfast at the Thurrock Hotel
- meet loads of Believers from across the denominations
- say hello to people from outside Thurrock
- hear the Rock Thurrock vision in full
- find out how and why the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) is involved - from a real American!
- find out how you and your church can get involved
- hear Jonathan Oloyede's endorsement of the project (right)
- pray
To book your place, please contact Edwin on deaconblue@talktalk.net or 07866 922523.
Rock Thurrock is a story of breakthroughs and developing relationships. Christians and churches are mobilising around the Rock Thurrock vision like never before - or certainly not in recent times.
This week we are pleased to announce that the local Besom branch are happy to come on board and help manage the Rock Thurrock Community Action Projects.
Meanwhile, a variety of churches are involved in hosting training events, and among that number is a significant amount of support from the African-led churches.
We give thanks to the Lord Jesus for making all this happen. Of course, there is opposition. This is manifested through criticism of one sort or another of the BGEA; through disunity; and doubt that this vision can be fulfilled. But through the Holy Spirit - not by might nor by power - this has been countered with truth, grace and faith.
- truth to see the lies of the enemy, exposed by the Light, and dispel them
- grace to see past differences of style and culture, grasp the Kingdom perspective and be one
- faith to believe this thing can happen, will happen and will make a difference
Together, let us declare a rousing 'Baal Perazim!' over Thurrock and watch the fresh waters flow and gush across this land bringing the salvation, redemption and healing and Jesus to all!
Let us declare as one, 'Thurrock - thou mighty man of valour!' and see our borough rise up ito be what it was always meant to be, as ordained by Christ the King!
Edwin Hughes' word for Rock Thurrock from Nehemiah
2:20 I answered them by saying, “The God of heaven will give us success. We his servants will start rebuilding, but as for you, you have no share in Jerusalem or any claim or historic right to it.” We who are making the effort to rebuild will be given success. Those who chose not to get involved will unfortunately for them have no share in it.
4:2 and in the presence of his associates and the army of Samaria, he said, “What are those feeble Jews doing? Will they restore their wall? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they finish in a day? Can they bring the stones back to life from those heaps of rubble—burned as they are?” We are trying to bring back to life stones from the heap of rubble in this place. Young people lost to the Lord who have no hope no direction. People will say we have no hope and that are efforts are feeble but with God on our side we can not fail.
4:8 They all plotted together to come and fight against Jerusalem and stir up trouble against it. 9 But we prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet this threat. There will be those who will plot against us. We need to ensure we have prayer teams in place who pray day and night for God to guard us against these threats.
4:19 Then I said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, “The work is extensive and spread out, and we are widely separated from each other along the wall. The work is extensive and we are spread thin but in unity we can breach the gaps.
5:9 So I continued, “What you are doing is not right. Shouldn’t you walk in the fear of our God to avoid the reproach of our Gentile enemies? If we walk with God we should not fear those who might oppose us.
8:5-6 Ezra opened the book. All the people could see him because he was standing above them; and as he opened it, the people all stood up. Ezra praised the LORD, the great God; and all the people lifted their hands and responded, “Amen! Amen!” Then they bowed down and worshiped the LORD with their faces to the ground. When the word of God is preached to young people in September they will be unable to resist bowing down and worshiping God.
8:8 They read from the Book of the Law of God, making it clear and giving the meaning so that the people understood what was being read. Through Velocity young people will receive the clear meaning of God’s word and will have an understanding of it that is beyond their years.
8:10 Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” The Joy of the Lord that is our strength will come to us through completing Community Action Projects. The more we give out and interact with our community the more God will bring joy to our hearts and bless us in return.
9:38 “In view of all this, we are making a binding agreement, putting it in writing, and our leaders, our Levites and our priests are affixing their seals to it.” At the launch breakfast a binding agreement will be made before God by the leaders of many churches of the borough that will make all this possible.
13:14 Remember me for this, my God, and do not blot out what I have so faithfully done for t he house of my God and its services. As we remain faithful to God in all we do throughout this project he will win the victory for us and his might and power will become evident in all that is achieved.
