Prayer

All aboard the Pocahontas!

The Thames Gateway Prayernet's arrangements for the voyage of intercession from Gravesend to Westminster and back on Saturday 7 May are now well under way.

Please see the publicity for the Thames Prayer Trip below. (Fliers will soon be available - please contact Tim Harrold if you require a bundle.)

It can be confirmed that one of the speakers on board the Princess Pocahontas will be Brian Mills who is based in Ashburnham, Kent, and who has long had a vision to see prayer groups linked strategically around and across the British Isles.

Brian shared this vision at the Coastlands & Gateways conference held in Liverpool in September 2007 which Tim attended along with colleagues from the Across Havering and Love Southend prayer networks. Out of this came a renewed, united vision for The Turn Of The Tide and subsequently - with members of the Kent Prayer Partnership coming on board - the Thames Gateway Prayernet.

The TGP have also asked a Christian local politician with connections with the House of Commons to speak concerning Parliament and related prayer needs. And at Westminster, the Pocahontas will be stopping to allow everyone time to prayer walk the area.

As with the previous Pocahontas trip in September 2009, there will be worship - led this time by Thurrock's John Gorham and Gareth Marsh, with maybe someone from Kent.

Maps are being prepared so that everyone can follow the route there and back with guidance for prayer concerning the geographical, historical and spiritual landscape of the Thames Gateway.

If you're into serious prayer for the United Kingdom - just one year and one day since the last parliamentary election and just two days since the referendum on a voting system for the future, as well as local elections around the country - then this is for you. This is not intended to be a day trip!

It will be a long day, approx. 6 hours, so take plenty of sarnies and drinks (tea and coffee provided, however).

NOTE - make time to catch the Tilbury Ferry over to Gravesend in time to catch the Pocahontas! Because of the tides and docking at Westminster, timing has to be strict. For timetable see http://midessexships.org/Documents/Tilbury%20Ferry.pdf (sailings out at 9.15am and 9.45am; return at 4.05/4.35/5/5.30pm).

Cost for the day: £15. You must book - details below.
