Thames Prayer Trip this Saturday!
The Thames Gateway Prayernet's voyage of intercession is THIS SATURDAY 7 MAY - so make sure you've booked your place aboard the Princess Pocahontas in plenty of time.
The Thames Prayer Trip goes from Gravesend to Westminster and back - and here's a run-down of some of the speakers and worship leaders involved.
Speakers
Brian Mills of Interprayer, an international prayer movement. Brian is based in Ashburnham, Kent, and who has long had a vision to see prayer groups linked strategically around and across the British Isles. Brian shared this vision at the Coastlands & Gateways conference held in Liverpool in September 2007 which Tim Harrold attended along with colleagues from the Across Havering and Love Southend prayer networks. Out of this came a renewed, united vision for The Turn Of The Tide and subsequently - with members of the Kent Prayer Partnership coming on board - the Thames Gateway Prayernet.
Julie Brown has an amazing testimony of how she was led by God to become an intercessor for the Monarchy, involving a unique anointing oil, an angel, a castle, and some famous jewels. Her seminar is very timely since this trip comes just a week after the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Jenny is really worth listening to as she opens up a spiritual understanding of the important role of the Monarchy and the United Kingdom for such a time as this. Matthew Porter is the Olympi cs Liaison Officer for Transform Newham and is a Thames Gateway Prayernetter. He will be talking about the 2012 London Games and also about the tributaries of the Thames.
Alison Orphan has an incredible insight into the spiritual palimpsest of the River Thames and its hinterland.
David Landrum works for Christians in Parliament and will be meeting the boat when it moors at Westminster. We will then be gong to St Margaret's - the church immediately next to Westminster Abbey - to pray for Parliament and the Government.
As with the previous Pocahontas trip in September 2009, there will be worship - led this time by Thurrock's John Gorham (Fresh Hope Community) and Gareth Marsh.
Maps are being prepared so that everyone can follow the route there and back with guidance for prayer concerning the geographical, historical and spiritual landscape of the Thames Gateway.
If you're into serious prayer for the United Kingdom - just one year and one day since the last parliamentary election and just two days since the referendum on a voting system for the future, as well as local elections around the country - then this is for you. This is not intended to be a day trip!
It will be a long day, approx. 6 hours, so take plenty of sarnies and drinks (tea and coffee provided, however).
NOTE - make time to catch the Tilbury Ferry over to Gravesend in time to catch the Pocahontas! Because of the tides and docking at Westminster, timing has to be strict. For timetable see http://midessexships.org/Documents/Tilbury%20Ferry.pdf (sailings out at 9.15am and 9.45am; return at 4.05/4.35/5/5.30pm).
Cost for the day: £15. You must book - details below.

| | | Christopher Dolley (Guest) | 05/05/2011 19:37 | I would have come on the trip but unfortunately it clashes with a commitment. I do wish Gods blessing and the presence of the Holy Spirit on the day, I will be praying for you and would like to have feedback from the day in due course. May God speak to you clearly as you seek him.
