The Son Rises at Sunrise across Thurrock
There are at least three sunrise services in the borough on Easter Sunday morning.
ONE TREE HILL 5.15am There will be a Special SonRise service on One Tree Hill (at the Trig Point) on Easter Sunday morning. It is being organised by Simeon Bayton and others from the Stanford Boiler Room Community (217 Southend Road) following a Saturday of full silence! Thus, our Easter hymns and acclamations will be even more wholehearted and fulsome!! Ii is suggested if you plan to come that you get there by 5.15am at the latest so as not to miss the rising sun. The service will be followed by breakfast if you are able to stay.
GRAYS BEACH 6am Folk will be gathering near to Thurrock Yacht Club to celebrate the resurrection of the Sun of Righteousness as the sun rises over the River Thames. A liturgical-style service especially written for Grays Beach will be followed. This maybe followed by breakfast!
WEST THURROCK 6.30am Meet at St Clement's in London Road, West Thurrock, for a service outside. This will be followed by breakfast. Easter Sunday Communion follows later at 11am.
The weather promises to be excellent this year - both warmer and clearer than the previous couple of years. So wherever you live in Thurrock, get up and get along to one of these very special times, and celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and King, Jesus Christ!
