"12-2" @ GOPIC - prayers for RT & T-Fest

Last weekend (23/24 July), the young adults involved in Rock Thurrock hosted a prayer room at Gates of Praise International Centre (GOPIC) in Curzon Drive, Grays.

Steve Blakey and Hannah Lawton - who are both part of a local cross-denominational hub for young adults called Access - created a simple prayer room using sheets from the previous 24-1 at Grays Baptist Church a few weeks ago. People were invited to add their prayers, pictures, poems and prophetic words to the sheets.

The room was open from 10am to 10pm on Saturday, and from 1pm (after GOPIC finished their morning service) to 10pm on Sunday. It wasn't quite a "12-2", but almost. The prayer room was at GOPIC so that people could, if they wanted, walk over to the Thurrock Festival (T-Fest) taking place at

Grays Beach just along the road and continue praying there.

The Treasure Hunting team that Lee Hopper had put together used the prayer room at GOPIC as their base before setting off to find the treasure the Lord had given them clues for. (See link to left of this article to read all about what they got up to.)

Here are just a few of the prayers, pictures, poems and prophetic words that have been written up on the walls:

In Rock Thurrock is a fulfillment of the prophecy of Joel 2:25-32 and just like in Acts 2; there was a fulfillment which resonated from Jerusalem to the rest of the rest of the world, so shall it be, that work birth [sic] will reach the ends of the earth, souls saved, restoration of all things and kingdom manifested > !!!

I want to see...
The scepticism that
leaves the church complacent, removed.
And denies them the opportunities to
see your marvellous works in action, or to
be involved.
And for it to be replaced by
a can do mentality.

Particularly in your young people!

Transform the borough...
and through it the world.
Reach out
and create something in
those schools both before
and after the visits, Lord.

Spring up oh well.

Be transformed by the
renewing of your mind -

and the Lord will put it into their hearts
to be a new witness in the earth.
So don't be surprised if 'the way we've always
done it' is no longer appropriate -
but let the Lord change the ways
of doing things. For this is
A NEW DAY.
