TRANSFORM! with TDOP
This year's Thurrock Day of Prayer (TDOP) returns to Hassenbrook School on Saturday 22 October and features keynote speaker Rachel Hickson.
2011's event will be a combining of the best aspects of TDOP 2009 and TDOP 2010, with an afternoon session of practical seminars and an evening of worship and prophetic input.
This year, TDOP has a name - TRANSFORM! We hope by giving the event such a name it will carry a sense of dynamism, direction and destiny.
We hope that TRANSFORM! will be as 'big' as 2009's TDOP at Hassenbrook, and as engaging/equipping/empowering as 2010's TDOP at Grays URC.
The proposed programme currently looks like this:
Afternoon 2-3pm repeated at 3.30-4.30pm TRANSFORM! Practical Prayer Seminar Streams
- Prayer Spaces
- Schools Prayer Groups
- Treasure Hunting
- Healing on the Streets / Prayer Stops
- Street Parties / Community Festivals
- London 2012 Olympic Games
- Healing the Land
Evening 6-9pm TRANSFORM! celebration
- worship
- speaker: Rachel Hickson
The afternoon programme is still being finalised, and once it is publicity will become available.
Rachel Hickson of Heartcry for Change has been married to Gordon for 25 years, and they have 2 children: their daughter Nicola is married to Tim Douglass, who is on the staff of London Hillsong Church, and their son David (19), who is at Loughborough University studying Maths and Management.
Rachel is a daughter of missionaries, and lived in India as a child. Rachel founded the M25 Prayernet, and she and Gordon moved to live in Oxford in May 2005, where Gordon is now the Associate Minister of St Aldates. Rachel Hickson is a founding member of the UK Prophetic Roundtable along with Sharon Stone, Martin Scott, Sue Mitchell and others.
Tim Harrold first met Rachel in 2005 when she was speaker at an event in the Cliffs Pavilion in Westcliff-on-Sea. At the time, Tim was beginning to mobilise folk along the River Thames for The Turn Of The Tide "24-28" (the forerunner of the Thames Gateway Prayernet) which took place in October of that year.

Two of Heartcry for Change's core activities are:
- PRAYER – Training an army of ordinary people in Prayer Schools and seminars how to become confident to break the sound barrier and pray informed, intelligent and passionate prayers.
- PROPHETIC – Equipping the church to be an accurate prophetic voice in the nation by teaching in training schools and conferences the principles of the prophetic gift. We seek to train people who are passionate to know the presence of God, are available to hear His voice and then learn to speak His word with accuracy so that lives can be touched and changed.
