Planning for Thurrock's future

From Mariam Isijola, Senior Planner in the Strategic Planning department at Thurrock Council.

SITE ALLOCATIONS DEVELOPMENT PLAN DOCUMENT (DPD) ‘CALL FOR SITES’ FOR FUTURE FAITH GROUPS PREMISES

Council is currently producing its Site Allocation Development Plan Document (DPD). The document will form an essential part of the Council's Local Development Framework and will allocate land for Thurrock map close updevelopment and designate land for particular uses. The Site Allocations DPD will need to be consistent with the overall spatial strategy set out in the emerging Core Strategy.

As part of the Councils work in considering the provision of sites for various types of uses, the Council is conducting a ‘Call for Site’ to enable land owners, consultants, developers and interest groups to suggest suitable land and/or buildings within the borough for the future provision of premises for Faith Groups Sites submitted will subsequently be assessed and considered for inclusion in the Site Allocations DPD.

This is the opportunity for you to tell us about land you feel should be identified to meet future premises needs through the planning process. We would therefore like to take this opportunity to request that you submit sites to the Council for consideration at this early stage to inform this work.

To submit a site for consideration, please complete and submit a Response Form which can be downloaded from the Council’s website at www.thurrock.gov.uk/planning/strategic. Please submit your form together with an attached map accurately identifying the site boundary on or no later than Friday 16 September 2011 to:
