Rock Thurrock Main Events' prayer guide

With just a few days to go, the Rock Thurrock core team are asking believers across the borough to pray for the main events and related activities.

Feel free to print off and use this in any way you feel appropriate...

Pray at home, or at your church building, or in groups of 2 or 3 or more...
Actively go somewhere to pray other than the norm, like on a walk in the country or by the river...
Fast throughout the week in some way (cut out some or all food or particular kinds of foods; don't watch TV for a week or cut out watching your favourite sport; or deny yourself something else in order to pray)

Wednesday night prayer walk

Come to the Civic Hall at 7.30pm on Wednesday 21 September to pray around the outside of the hall! Meet on the steps outside.

Prayer Team

Volunteer to be part of the Rock Thurrock Prayer Team on the nights of the events! (If you're already going to be an encourager, you can still do this!) Contact Frank Gaisie on destinychapel@gmail.com or Tim Harrold on tim@transformationthurrock.com to do this.

This week - schools' work

Pray for the band LZ7, who are visiting some local schools and colleges throughout the week. They will be doing assembly, workshops and lunchtime activities at:

Monday 19th - The Grays School Media Arts College - 90 tickets given away!
Tuesday 20th - Hassenbrook, Stanford-le-Hope
Wednesday 21st - Gateway Academy, Tilbury
Thursday 22nd - Palmers (lunchtime concert)
Friday 23rd - Ormiston Academy, Aveley

Pray for each of these schools
Pray that many young people will want to come to Rock Thurrock as a result of hearing the band
Pray that all those who take tickets will actually go!
Pray for a move of the Holy Spirit upon the hearts of young people across the borough - for healing in Jesus' name for the broken, the hurt, the abused, the rejected and the lost - bringing them to faith in the Saviour of the world, Jesus Christ.

Also, pray for the members of the EEI team - the Emerging Evangelists Institute - who will be visitng the Harris Academy (formerly Chafford Hundred Campus) on Thursday 22nd, as well as going to the Bar'N'Bus nights around the borough (Tuesday - Grays; Wednesday - West Thurrock; Thursday - Corringham).

Friday night - A Celebration of Hope

Pray for those on stage and in the auditorium, that they may be anointed by God for the event:

The follow-up - Velocity

Pray for the immediate follow-up of new believers that they are:

assured of their salvation
protected from opposition spiritually and from friends and family
all befriended by believers and relationships grow
encouraged to attend a Velocity course
discipled to become true disciples of Jesus, not just through a programme, but through a relationship with Christ and contact with other believers

Unity
This is a God-opportunity for our borough!
We are seeing unprecedented unity in prayer and mission through the Rock Thurrock project!
Pray with thanksgiving but also looking ahead to 2012 using these scriptures and thoughts...

This may be updated throughout the week so our prayer is all the more effective.

We are in a battle. Jesus is the King of a Kingdom - but there is an 'evil empire'. We can fight (pray) in victory because we are more than conquerors, which means, the conquering has already been done by the ROCK of our Salvation!
