More Than Gold comes to Thurrock THIS THURSDAY

MoreThanGoldOn Thursday 10 November there will be two presentations given by the team from More Than Gold (MTG) as we start to look ahead to the London 2012 Games.

Matt Oliver will explain not only how MTG can be a support to your church's activities during the Olympic and Paralympic period but also provide lots of ideas and resources for community outreach.

Transformation Thurrock are putting on two events in one day to provide maximum opportunity for local church leaders and ministers and anyone else interested to engage in this historic, once-in-a-lifetime occasion.

Of course, this once again gives the church an unmissable chance to work in unity and harmony together across the entire borough.

Part of MTG's vision is not just to resource churches but also to have every church in the UK sign up and have a Gold Champion. In Thurrock there are so far just two Gold Champions - these are Alasdair MacGillivray of Chafford Hundred Community Church and Rob Groves of Fresh Hope Community in Stanford-le-Hope. Tim Harrold is the acting MTG Borough Champion.

Matt will be looking for more local churches to sign up to MTG and for Gold Champions to come forward at these two events.
