Art Exhiibition FlyerEMAILThe Stanford & Corringham Boiler Room Community at 217 Southend Road in Stanford are holding an open exhibition of art this Saturday 12 June.

Throughout the day from 10am until 8pm there are refreshments available to eat and drink in the huge garden around the home that has been used as a prayer house and community base since Easter 2007.

The idea of the exhibition – called “CREATE” – is to create a space for local creativity to be displayed and inspire others to express their God-given talents through the medium of art.

The display will include painting, sculpture, relief, photography and video by artists from across the borough.

Organiser Lisa Anderson said of Create – about which she is hugely passionate – “I  am more and more aware and convinced that this event… has been so put together by God… so many right now need to be carried/helped encouraged spurred on etc… it makes me cry……. I am so relieved this is happening, to God be the glory.”

Please come – Create is open to all. Get inspired, to produce your own art, or to put on a similar event. Imagine such events can be held regularly around the borough. Art is redemptive in that people find themselves – and can find God – through their own creativity, created in us by the Creator of all creation.

The First Man to be Filled with the Spirit of God in the Bible was an Artist!
Exodus 31:2-5
See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts – to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of craftsmanship.

The Power of Anointed Craftsmen
Zechariah 1:18-21
Then I looked up—and there before me were four horns! I asked the angel who was speaking to me, “What are these?”
He answered me, “These are the horns that scattered Judah, Israel and Jerusalem.”
Then the LORD showed me four craftsmen. I asked, “What are these coming to do?”
He answered, “These are the horns that scattered Judah so that no one could raise his head, but the craftsmen have come to terrify them and throw down these horns of the nations who lifted up their horns against the land of Judah to scatter its people.”
