Declaration of Unity to be made at Thurrock Pentecost 2016

Tim Harrold

After much prayer and discussion, local church ministers attending the weekly Thurrock Leaders' Prayer meetings have agreed to make a declaration of unity across the borough's denominations.

The idea is to announce our intention to progress our working together and pooling resources on a relational basis. It is both formal - because the declaration is being made in public - and informal - because no one will be signing anything!

The declaration, based on elements from the Evangelical Alliance Statement of Beliefs, will be read out in full. The declaration is split into three sections:
  • Commitment to Unity of Doctrine

  • Commitment to Unity of Purpose

  • Commitment to Unity of Fellowship

The uniting declaration will be made by all leaders and representatives who want to, followed by prayer.

This is a significant moment for the Church of Thurrock and the borough's community. It will be looked back on for many years. And all local believers are invited!

>>> See below for other information about the event. For a PDF download of the poster, please use the link to the left of this page. The full text of the declaration will be published after it has been disseminated across all local fellowships.
