Praying for creativity and creative industry in Thurrock

The next of the Seven Mountains of Thurrock prayer meeting takes place on Sunday 24 April - see the flyer below (also downloadable using the link to the left).

These mountains can also be described as spheres of society. See previous articles in this series to find out more. But they are ubiquetous - and they are the mission field of the church. Followers of Jesus can be found in all walks of life. This is the place of witness and ministry.

High House Production Park in Pufleet is a centre for creative industry that is attracting work to the borough as well as being a resource for creatives of all kinds from across Thurrock. In January 2014, HRH Prince Charles visited the site and met with people working there. See and

The Royal Opera House Production Workshop and Costume Centre represent a nationally and internationally reknowned brand, bringing artisans, craftsmen and fashion designers into our borough. See

The Backstage Centre is a training place for young people looking to work in the theatre and entertainment sector with opportunites to learn sound, lighting and stage management techniques. The main space there attracts top bands, productions and other entertainments as a rehearsal huge, soundproofed venue. It was offically opened by Jules Holland. See

The High House Barns are a top notch conference and wedding suite.

The High House Artists' Studios - run by Acme Artists' Studios of London - boasts 40 rooms for artists of all kinds to pursue their various practises. A number of Thurrock residents are among those who have studios there. The studios will be open to the public over the weekend of Friday 15 to Sunday 17 July as part of the Thurrock Art Trail 2016. People will be able to see artists at work. See

A plan for a large development for a television and media village to be built near Purfleet station has recently been unveiled. These will be a major boost for the local economy and attract work from around the world. See

The Thurrock Art Trail 2016 is an opportunity for artists of all kinds to show their work to the public at many venues across the borough. Now in its 5th year, a number of local churches will be acting as galleries. See and
