Thurrock Leaders Prayer August to October 2016

TLP logoUPDATED 25 SEPTEMBER 2016

For the past 14 years, local church leaders - pastors, vicars, ministers from across the denominations - have gathered together once a week to pray together, for each other, and for the borough.

Formerly known as Grays Leaders Prayer, since January 2015 it has been called Thurrock Leaders Prayer after the group sensed God call the group to embrace the whole of the borough.

Something similar has been happening in Reading - for 19 years. In recent weeks they have seen thousands come to faith in Jesus across their city. Fellowships are sharing the load, and the responsibiltiy of stewarding what appears to be a revival.

More and more in recent months our prayers have been for increased unity among the people of God, blessing upon our community and healing for the land - for transformation.

This was articulated at the Thurrock Pentecost 2016 event on 14 May when 20 expressions of the Christian church in our borough were represented and joined together in a Declaration of Unity. We now need to work this out with sincere intentional activity and in genuine relational friendship.

If we can learn to be, then we will be so much more effective in what we do.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds. Romans 12:2

Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:3
