Thurrock Leaders Prayer February to April new venues
Updated 22 March
The TLP is for those in church leadership across the borough - hence the word 'leader' in its name! So if you're a leader, you are welcome!
The TLP is for prayer for Thurrock - hence the words 'Thurrock' and 'prayer' in its name! So let us pray and not preach, and give each other the space to pray but not preach!
All we ask of our hosts is a time of worship or a moment of reflection to get us focused.
2017 promises to be an exciting, 'interesting' year.
It's the 500th anniversary of the Reformation; the 70th anniversary of Smith Wigglesworth's great prophecy about the role of the UK in bringing the light of the gospel to Europe; and the 50th anniversary of Jean Darnell's famous vision of little fires across the UK joining together into one fire.
Meanwhile, the USA has the new and controversial President, Donald Trump, entering the White House this Friday, and Brexit begins to unfold for real with Prime Minister Theresa May and the Conservative government's plan for a Global Britain ahead of the activation of Article 50. (Pray for them both - its a biblical instruction!)
The 'Alt-Right' are on the rise across Europe, and wars continue to be raged in various hotspots around the globe. While persecution of the church is on the increase, it's said that 174,000 people are entering the kingdom of Jesus every day and 3500 new churches open every week.
There is a very real sense of anticipation about 2017 from a number of sources around the UK. We here in Thurrock have an ever-widening window to bring about more of the tangible transformation we've been working at for so long. For me, with Transformation Thurrock becoming a charity comes renewed energy, a renewed sense of direction and renewed opportunity to build upon the unity many of us declared together last Pentecost. And even if you weren't part of that particular act, we're still all the Church of Thurrock…
Let's face it, it's exciting, because we're the Joy-Bringers, the Hope-Deliverers, the History-Shapers, the Atmosphere-Shifters, and the Truth-Sayers. We're the ones we've been waiting for!
Expect the unexpected!

Jesus said, ‘I am the truth.’ Truth is not a teaching. Truth is a person, and if you have that person, you have the Truth. And in that person there is always unity. But if we put our understanding of the Scripture and our doctrinal views higher than the person of Jesus... we worship idols. Anything you place above the Lord Jesus, is an idol. Our unity is not in a teaching, it’s in a person. And in that person, we always find one another.”
