PICT1686The Old Tennis Courts – the Grays Community Prayer House – played host to a day of M25 Nutcracker prayer yesterday (Thursday 27 May).

The day began at 7.30am when Tim Harrold opened up the house. Shortly after, Steve Morley turned up. We stuck up the four main maps of London’s Boroughs, the M25, Thurrock and the UK, and commenced praying.

At 8.30am various local ministers –  nine in all from across the denominations – gathered for the weekly Grays Leaders Prayer, which this week had a distinct ‘Nutty’ flavour. We prayed especially that from our dwelling together in unity, such as it is, will come blessing PICT1684for life ever more across the communities of Grays and Thurrock.

Rev Christine Williams of St Mary’s, Little Thurrock, and Colin Baker, pastor at Grays Baptist Church, stayed on for further prayer, the latter leaving at lunchtime.

In the afternoon Roy Edworthy (left, with maps) and Dave Matthams – both on the Besom and Thurrock Healing Rooms’ teams – spent some time praying in the prayer room.

Remaining Nutcracker events this week:

  • Prayer at Thurrock Services – Saturday 2pm
  • Prayer on the Bridge Over the M25 – Sunday 3pm (B1355 between S Ockendon and Aveley)
