The very popular Bible Society Quiz Night was held at Grays URC on Saturday 3rd February. Organised by the Thurrock Action Group for the Bible Society the Quiz Night is a fundraiser and fun-raiser!
Competition between the churches is fierce (but friendly) and this year there were teams from All Saints, Community Church (Basildon), Community Church (Chafford Hundred), Grays Baptist, St John’s, St Mary’s, and West Thurrock Chapel, along with our team from Socketts Heath Baptist.
The ten rounds included Art and Literature, General Knowledge, Science, the Bible, and one on UK Motorways. Do you know on which motorway you can stop at the Watford Gap services?
The team from Socketts Heath Baptist used their knowledge of obscure Bible trivia to take the lead by playing their joker and scoring highly. They clung on to win by just 6 points from West Thurrock Chapel who were just ahead of Community Church (Chafford Hundred) in third.
Teams also enjoyed a fish and chip supper and a total just exceeding £325 was raised for the Bible Society.
