Real poverty exists here locally, and debt is a major contributor to this. For people living on a low income and struggling to make ends meet, debt repayments can mean they are unable to afford the basics of life:  regular meals, heating, clothing or medication etc.  Debt causes relational poverty too. Stress, sleepless nights and constant arguing about money put a massive strain on marriages and families. This all results in marital breakdown, illness, depression and even suicidal attempts.

Note: If you call and discover that the next available appointment is some time away and there is an urgent concern (eg repossession/eviction proceedings starting or you have no money for food/heating), then the best thing is to take the appointment they offer and then contact us locally on 07505 104820, as we are often able to give emergency help before the main debt help appointments.
