The following has been sent out by Gail Clayton, facilitator of the Transforming Essex Intercessors (TEI), encouraging the county’s church to join a national prayer initiative instigated by old friend of Thurrock, Dr Jonathan Oloyede (Global Day of Prayer London, Join The Dots UK, City Chapel Becontree).
This is to take place on Wednesday 27 May. A further day of prayer takes place a month later in June (there was one in April).
The Lord wants to mobilise the church of Thurrock to join in with this. Yes, we are in lockdown in our homes: but it is here that God wants us while he prepares us for what he’s going to do next.
Many around the world are eagerly anticipating that Pentecost 2020 will be significant.
There is a sense that while the body of Christ is away from its usual denominational expressions, we are actually closer together – gathered in one one place, in one accord, in one ‘upper room’. ‘Upper’ because we are learning what it is to be seated in heavenly places, confident of our God-given identities.
This enforced pause gives the church of Thurrock the opportunity to let Father do whatever it is he’s doing in his people. The prayer initiative below can be a part of that.
There are two ways to access this. One is to join the TEI Zoom meeting. To access the TEI Zoom, You need to email Gail at gailhome@yahoo.co.uk
Alternatively, register with Jonathan O’s initiative, details also below.
As well as the scriptures mentioned, take a look at Hebrews 12:26-29 in The Message and Isaiah 43:18-19 in The Passion.
Come on Church of Thurrock! Let’s get this 24 hours of prayer covered! Let’s be prepared for Pentecost and beyond.
