The Firestarters team have been at it again!
The team were out in force on Saturday 15 April 2017. Made of people from across a number of Christian expressions in the Grays area, the monthly outreach team has added Free Hugs to their monthly ‘spiritual readings’ outreach in Grays Market.
Why free hugs?
Because when a believer hugs another person, in faith, something of the love of Jesus, the kingdom and heaven is released – blessing, healing, transformation.
And lots of smiles.
Even people who don’t want a hug, smile when offered.
Being Easter, the team offered folk a Happy Easter and God’s blessings over them. There was a constant stream of people wanting free hugs over a period of three hours.
Meanwhiile, other team members handed out free Easter chocolates and gave ‘spiritual readings’ – words of encouragement from God for people chosing from a selction of images one that seems relevant right now, or a picture to which they are drawn for some reason. Literature was handed out when appropriate.
Scientific fact! A few hugs a day will…
- boost immunity
- increase oxytocin levels
- reduce blood pressure
- lower stress levels
