Tomorrow maybe April Fools’ Day, but the wise will be out in force at Rock Thurrock’s half night of prayer, Ignite The Flame, held at Grays Baptist Church in the evening.
The evening will be a mixture of ‘Open Heaven’ worship, vision-casting and intercession for the Rock Thurrock project which was launched on 5 March with a breakfast at the Thurrock Hotel.
The aim of the Rock Thurrock Prayer Strategy is to have every aspect of the whole project covered by prayer using every means to do so. This includes:
- CHRISTIAN LIFE & WITNESS COURSE – evangelism training for adults, to be held in four venues across the borough, four nights per week, during the weeks beginning 5/13/20 June
- FM419 COURSE – evangelism training for young people, to be held at Grays URC on 9/10 Sept.
- VELOCITY COURSE – discipleship training for young people who responded at The Event at the Civic Hall, 24/25 Sept.
We want to see future Rock Thurrock prayer gatherings taking place at venues right across the borough.
These will be on:
- Friday 29 April – to pray for Rock Thurrock – at Corringham Baptist Church
- Friday 20 May – to pray for Rock Thurrock
- Friday 3 June – to pray for the following week’s CLWC courses
- Friday 10 June – to pray for the following week’s CLWC courses – at Destiny Chapel, Culver Centre, South Ockendon
- Friday 17 June – to pray for the following week’s CLWC courses
- Friday 22 July – to pray for Rock Thurrock (last before summer)
- Friday 2 Sept – to pray for Rock Thurrock and FM419 course (half-night of prayer with pizza?)
- Friday 23 Sept – to pray for Rock Thurrock Civic Hall Events (this comes at the end of a week of prayer & fasting, so maybe more pizza!)
- Friday 30 Sept – thanksgiving event for Civic Hall events (inc. celebration)
- Friday 7 Oct – to pray for the following week’s Velocity courses
- Friday 14 Oct – to pray for the following week’s Velocity courses
- Friday 21 Oct – to pray for the following week’s Velocity courses
- Friday 28 Oct – to pray for the following week’s Velocity courses
- Friday 4 Nov – to pray for the following week’s Velocity courses
- Friday 11 Nov – to pray for the following week’s Velocity courses
- Friday 18 Nov – to pray for the following week’s Velocity courses
- Friday 25 Nov – thanksgiving event for end of Rock Thurrock project (inc. celebration)
We are still looking for venues for those nights when no location is mentioned.
Representatives from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association – leading partners in the project – will be present at Ignite The Flame, as well as Transformation Thurrock, who are assisting in facilitating the prayer strategy and general communication of all things Rock Thurrock.
