Hi Thurrock Church Leaders!
Some of you will be aware of the fact that TCF has now opened the ‘Christians Against Poverty’ Debt Centre (again) – but some of you will not! So, please accept the attached document that explains it all in much more detail: CLICK HERE . As a fellow leader, I am inviting all the churches in Thurrock to partner with us at TCF to make this truly an inter-church ministry for the relief of debt in – for the time being – the East part of the Borough. However, we have an additional arrangement with Thurrock Foodbank that we will take any qualifying client from anywhere in Thurrock.
For those of you who live and work in Thurrock, but outside the East Thurrock area, I should add a further word of explanation. Last time we ran a CAP Debt Centre – with just one Debt Coach – it was clear that covering the whole of Thurrock was a step too far for the time and resources of just one person. So the plan is to start with a manageable area (roughly divided by parliamentary constituencies) and hope to expand it as resources allow. A further Debt Coach or two would be needed to cover the entirety of Thurrock, along with funding for such a person, plus a goodly supply of willing Befrienders and Visit Supporters. I believe that this will happen in time.
Nevertheless, I am calling upon all the churches to stand with us as we begin this new ministry. It is also a fabulous opportunity to give spiritually hungry people the gospel – in a gentle yet powerful way. Please stand beside us in this venture; we cannot do it all on our own!
Love and Blessings,
