The other day I received an email from Transformation Thurrock’s good friend, local intercessor Morag Waterman. She was replying to an email I sent her on 8 December 2007!
This was the period immediately before the inception of Transformation Thurrock – it was ‘in the air’ – and obviously long before Rock Thurrock came onto the scene. The Stanford Boiler Room had at that time been going for 8 months.
Entitled Gatekeepers’ News Update the email had a few notices on it, notably the up and coming Turn Of The Tide gathering in Benfleet – featuring Dr Jonathan Oloyede and Rev Steve Williams – on 12 January 2008, the precursor to the Thames Gateway Prayernet; and later that month a 24-7 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity to be held at The Old Tennis Court Community Prayer House in Grays. At the end of the month on 28 January, 24-7 Prayer’s Pete Grieg was lined up to do a day’s seminars at St John’s in Victoria Avenue, Grays.
But at the bottom of the email, under the heading, WORDS GIVEN TO THURROCK OVER THE YEARS, were the following scriptures and prophetic words which I now bring before you – once again – for your prayerful consideration, bearing in mind where we were then as a borough, and where we are now – and where Jesus maybe leading us…

Isaiah 41:17-20
The poor and needy search for water,
but there is none;
their tongues are parched with thirst.
But I the LORD will answer them;
I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
I will make rivers flow on barren heights,
and springs within the valleys.
I will turn the desert into pools of water,
and the parched ground into springs.
I will put in the desert
the cedar and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive.
I will set pines in the wasteland,
the fir and the cypress together,
so that people may see and know,
may consider and understand,
that the hand of the LORD has done this,
that the Holy One of Israel has created it.

“Naturally, the tide always turns. There is never a time when the tide does not turn. If you stand and wait you will see it.
I believe the Lord says that in the same way the tide is about to turn in Thurrock where people will hunger and thirst for God.
There will be a holy reverence for His Name and many, young and old, will cry out to Jesus Christ in repentance. If you stand and wait you will see it. (Read Zechariah 8:1-6.)”

The LORD Promises to Bless Jerusalem
Again the word of the LORD Almighty came to me.
This is what the LORD Almighty says: “I am very jealous for Zion; I am burning with jealousy for her.” This is what the LORD says: “I will return to Zion and dwell in Jerusalem.
Then Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of the LORD Almighty will be called the Holy Mountain.”
This is what the LORD Almighty says: “Once again men and women of ripe old age will sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each with cane in hand because of his age.
The city streets will be filled with boys and girls playing there.”
This is what the LORD Almighty says: “It may seem marvellous to the remnant of this people at that time, but will it seem marvellous to me?” declares the LORD Almighty.

“From a valley of bones, dried in the sun,
To an army of warriors, in a war that is won…
From a desert of despair to a lush valley of pools and springs…
From isolated fortresses of precious traditions
To an open-handed unity of glorious hope…
I am changing my church, says the Builder and Architect;
I am again breathing life into my Beloved, says the Lord, her Lover;
And though you are dry and your walls are broken down –
I am already rebuilding, watering, blessing, uniting.
Church of Thurrock, the door is again open to revival,
To an awakening of the people, to miracles and healings.
And thousands upon thousands will visit you,
To know this blessing for themselves –
And to seek The Source.
I will restore the Holy City to greatness
And my glorious presence will be found within.
So, son, daughter, seek me, wait on me, obey me,
And pray in faith-filled expectation of the Day of My Power!”

I stood on the beach looking out to the estuary and felt that there would be a “Tsunami” of the Lord coming up the river from the estuary towards London and beyond to the very source of the Thames. This would be like nothing ever seen or experienced before. It will be of such magnitude and power that the enemies defences will be completely overwhelmed and destroyed and the flow will extend in land for some distance (not just the river front).
I also felt that the Lord saying He is going to claim back those places, things and people that have been stolen from Him.
But the time is not yet, because the “church” is not ready. So this is a time of preparation for the “church”. Those that ignore or refuse to change could be lost in the tsunami, because only the true church of Jesus Christ (the bride) will remain.

The River From the Temple
The man brought me back to the entrance of the temple, and I saw water coming out from under the threshold of the temple toward the east (for the temple faced east). The water was coming down from under the south side of the temple, south of the altar. He then brought me out through the north gate and led me around the outside to the outer gate facing east, and the water was flowing from the south side. As the man went eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a thousand cubits and then led me through water that was ankle-deep. He measured off another thousand cubits and led me through water that was knee-deep. He measured off another thousand and led me through water that was up to the waist. He measured off another thousand, but now it was a river that I could not cross, because the water had risen and was deep enough to swim in—a river that no one could cross. He asked me, “Son of man, do you see this?”
Then he led me back to the bank of the river. When I arrived there, I saw a great number of trees on each side of the river. He said to me, “This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah, where it enters the Sea. When it empties into the Sea, the water there becomes fresh. Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live. Fishermen will stand along the shore; from En Gedi to En Eglaim there will be places for spreading nets. The fish will be of many kinds—like the fish of the Great Sea. But the swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they will be left for salt. Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.”
