Transformation Thurrock are putting together a programme of training for mission, and prayer, for the next few months.
These ideas have emerged from last year’s Transformation Thurrock Tour which, if you remember, identified the commonalities between fellowships of dreams, visions and the prophetic. Prominent themes highlighted on the resulting wordles were:
- witness
- prayer
- community
- neighbours
- unity
- youth
- communication
- comfort
- love
The proposed training sessions will be facilitated by a team of Firestarters from North Kent Community Church (NKCC) in Ebbsfleet. It is rare that they don’t have testimonies of the miraculous each week – God is moving and amazing things are happening, and this is not sensationalism or just wishful thinking. A number of people from Thurrock have been attending their Supernatural School of Life and Global Legacy leaders’ gatherings over the past 18 months. All have been impacted and want to see the things they’re learning activated on this side of the Thames.
Although these dates aren’t yet fully confirmed, please make a note of them – they give an idea of the regularity of the training leading up to a specific targetted event where the things we will have learnt will be put into practice.
-
Saturday 25 April – Treasure Hunting – using God’s clues to speak and pray with people
-
Saturday 30 May – Healing On The Streets – praying for the sick
-
Saturday 27 June – Christian Spiritual Reading – using prophetic tools e.g. the Jesus Deck
-
Wednesday 29 July – Big Lunch (Grays Park)
The venue, or venues, will be announced in due course. But obviously we want to be doing the training near a local town centre.
The format for the day will be to meet in the morning, spend a bit of time getting to know each other in pairs, testimony, worship, training and then a time of activation (by going out in small groups). The training will be free, but we will take an offering to cover the travelling costs of the team of trainers.
The Big Lunch – which is a big lunch for all the community – provides a great opportunity for a Christian presence in which these three components can be utilised and engaing with people and bringing them into an encounter with God.
Of course, the skills developed at these sessions can be used across the borough on all sorts of occasions. Groups can develop as those trained can train others. Ultimately, this building up of faith can only benefit the community as God’s love is expressed through signs and wonders – a thing that Jesus promised his disciples would happen.
Parallel to this, Transformation Thurrock is looking at establishing a fresh stream of united prayer to plough the spiritual land ahead, during and beyond the training. We are looking for suggestions of dates and venues to make this happen.
