Meth Job Ad jpeg

This is a new post, initially funded for three years.  It has arisen as a result of the vision of the four Churches in the Thurrock section of the South Essex Methodist Circuit to deepen our links with the families we currently serve (through, for example, Parent and Toddler Groups and After School Clubs), and to find appropriate evangelistic opportunities and strategies which will encourage and develop faith.

Children’s work in the churches had been faithful but static for a number of years.  Since September 2010 we have seen 2 new groups established very successfully at Linford and Stanford. There has also been considerable growth in the number of families in worship/ children on Sundays at Grays.

We are therefore looking to appoint either two part-time workers (between 15 and 25 hours per week) or one full-time worker (40 hours per week) who will work with us to support and develop our existing work, and initiate new work with families – especially those with younger children (aged 0 – 11).

We are excited about the prospect of working with someone who will help us move forward with our work and fulfil our vision of reaching children and their families with the gospel of our Lord Jesus and seeing young lives transformed. The successful candidate will be, above all, an enabler with the ability to enthuse and inspire our existing teams of volunteers – and draw in new ones. He/she will bring us fresh perspective and valuable experience; lead us into new ways of being young church for the 21st Century, and offer appropriate leadership.
We are delighted that the Circuit is willing and able to invest in a post in the Thurrock section to strengthen and extend the work we already have in place with children and families.

Salary in the range £20,000-£25,000, based on a 40 hour week,
with the higher figure being available for someone with substantial experience. (Pro-rota for part-time appointments)
Commencement date: 1st September 2012
earlier if the successful applicant is available.

Further information and an application pack available from:
