Following And Fishing Report
Socketts Heath Baptist Church was pleased to host the Following and Fishing evangelism and discipleship training led by Russell Godward and his team.
About 20 people from different churches came together on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th March to reflect on 4 questions:
- Why (we share the good news about Jesus);
- Who (we can share it with);
- What (we can say if we only have a few minutes); and
- When (we are planning to do this).
Participants were challenged to take every opportunity to share God’s story with the people they know, with people they meet in the community, and by going house to house, so that everyone has an opportunity to hear and respond to Jesus’ invitation to follow him.
Over lunchtime on Saturday we had the opportunity to do just that and went out in teams of 2 to meet, pray for, and share with people in the streets around the church building. While some said no thank you, quite a few welcomed the opportunity, and the teams came back encouraged.
