The annual Big Lunch event took place in Grays Park on Tuesday 26 July 2016.
From 11am to around 4pm, hundreds of people passed through the park, enjoying the musical entertainment, community interest stalls, and refreshment tents.
A cool summer breeze made conditions just right for spreading out the picnic blanket or putting up the deck chairs and simply being community.
Transformation Thurrock took their gazebo and set up their stall for the second time in 10 days, having had a presence at the Village Beach Arts Festival on Saturday 16 August.
Once again, the purpose was to reach out to local people using the supernatural evangelism from the Ignition training at Church Of His Presence in Grays on 2 July.
The team was made up of folk from a number of fellowships, including Claire Ruff from St John the Evangelist, Grays (above, left); Matthew Hughes from Community Church Chafford Hundred (above, right); Jan Blakey (Thurrock Christian Fellowship); Sayo Funmi (Church Of His Presence, Grays); and Tim & Vera Harrold (Transformation Thurrock).
Over the 5 hours, maybe some 50 people came over for a ‘spiritual reading’ using the picture cards on the table, to receive a prophetic word of encouragement, be prayed for, and to hear the good news of Jesus from team members.
